Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire

Imperial Bricks Limited

The Commission

Imperial Bricks commissioned the photography of a contemporary home in Princes Risborough to showcase its brickwork within the completed architecture. The brief called for a visual case study that demonstrated the character and application of the material, its relationship with the building’s other finishes and its contribution to the overall design.

The Photography

The photography explores the relationship between material, form and setting. Wider architectural views establish the building within its landscape, while considered compositions reveal how the brickwork interacts with the contrasting grey cladding, glazing and surrounding garden. Closer studies capture subtle variations in colour, texture and mortar, creating a cohesive series that communicates both the architecture and the material qualities of the brick.
