The Commission
The commission was to photograph a new development of five terraced homes on Lancing seafront, capturing the architecture within its coastal setting. Particular attention was given to the rear elevation, the relationship between the buildings and the seafront, and the views out to sea from the interior spaces.
The Photography
The photography moves between wider views of the development and more intimate perspectives of the architecture. The sequence establishes the coastal context before exploring the rear façade, the individual homes and the relationship between interior spaces and the sea beyond. Together, the images present the development as a whole while drawing attention to the architectural details and the experience of the buildings from within.
