As an architect, you understand that the spaces we create shape the way we live, work, and feel. I share that passion. Based in Mid Sussex, with great connections into London and Brighton. I photograph buildings with an eye for design, light, and materiality. Capturing not just their form, but the way they make us experience space. For me, architecture isn’t just about structures; it’s about how design informs life.
I’m James, an accredited member of the Association of Photographers (AOP), one of the industry’s most respected professional bodies. This accreditation reflects my commitment to the highest standards of technical skill, creative vision, and professional practice.
With over 20 years of photographic experience including a degree in photography, I specialise in architectural and interior photography that communicates design intent with clarity, precision, and creativity. My work spans heritage restorations, contemporary design-led builds, and high-end commercial interiors for brands such as Rolex, Omega, and TAG Heuer. I’ve also been commissioned by English Heritage to document historically significant sites where accuracy, context, and respect are paramount.
Every project is approached collaboratively, with an understanding of architecture that resonates with design professionals. I aim to create images that not only showcase your buildings but also convey the atmosphere, scale, and intent behind them—so your work is experienced as it was imagined. I also believe that the process should be enjoyable: when appropriate, we share moments over good food, drinks, or music, ensuring every project is not just professional, but fun for everyone involved.
Outside of photography, life in Mid Sussex revolves around my young family and our black cocker spaniel, who often reminds me to pause and notice the little things. I enjoy a good coffee, giving myself time to reflect, and taking life in—moments that inspire the way I see space, light, and design.
